Inspiration comes in all forms and shapes. Hiking for me is a way to balance out, breath, and meditate about life.
But is also a great way to get inspired for my illustrations and my work in general. Leafs, trees, the different colours of nature are all amazing little details where to find hints for a new illustration or drawing. I take pictures as if I am in an art museum, I walk around in awe feeling like a small creature.
Ferdinand Andri was a secessionist artist who designed the above poster (lithography on paper) in 1906. I can see in his work my same point of view.
I think his work is summed up perfectly by William Morris words:
“The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life and elevating them by art”.
